This shapefile is the result of the exclusive service area delineation effort conducted in Connecticut by the Western, Central, and Eastern Water Utility Coordinating Committees. Exclusive service areas denote the existing or future public water service provider for community water service (exclusive service areas for non-community water systems are represented by point data and are not mapped as polygons at this time). Unassigned areas consist of certain state-owned lands or lands requested by municipalities to remain unassigned.
Description
The shapefile was compiled on June 8, 2017 in Connecticut State Plane, NAD 1983 (feet) datum. The shapefile was last updated on April 23, 2018 with modifications facilitiated by each WUCC. It contains the following fields:ID: 0 (default) or 1 (for exclusive service area holders who have an exclusive service area beyond the boundary of the parcels currently served by the existing system).Name: The name of the exclusive service area holder. Note that in some areas, the exclusive service area is not assigned.Property: For unassigned land, a description of the property briefly identifying why it is not assigned. For example, state-owned lands are denoted by state forest names.
